Cord Retention System

He said that sometimes as cords get older they tend to stretch out and don’t stay connected to what is being plugged into them. Automatic Feed Spool – AFS
During use, the tip of the nylon line will become frayed and worn. The special self feeding line hub on the ST7700 will automatically feed and trim a fresh length of line as needed. Keep in mind that the cutting line will wear faster and will require more feeding if you are trimming or edging along hard surfaces such as sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces. Cutting heavier weeds will also wear out the line faster.
So be sure to order some extra line when you are ordering your string trimmer so you won’t run out in the middle of trimming.

For the most part people seem to love the Black and Decker ST7700. The biggest concern some people had was the amount of string that it used. In one of the reviews, someone mentioned they had heard that it was important to not turn it on and off all of the time. When you do this it releases string. By doing this it seemed to solve their problem. They did not feel they were using any more string that they ever had with any other weed wacker.
